What is the Windows Phone Hackathon?
The Windows Phone Hackathon is a 24h intensive hands-on learning experience. It's a free event where you can learn everything you need to know to develop and publish a Windows Phone applications. Whether you're a student just starting out or even if you've already developed on Windows Phone, Android, Symbian, Web OS or iOS, we'll share tips&tricks and all-around Windows Phone development know-how.
The event is aimed for different types of people and is available for students, faculty members, software professionals and companies
- Developers will get support and the opportunity to deploy their first Windows Phone application. Our Windows Phone experts will help you around C#, XAML and the tools.
- Designers get a chance to explore the Metro-design language that offers a completely different approach to mobile app design. You'll also get the chance to learn to use the professional UX-design and prototyping tools like Expression Blend.
- Innovators and business minds can see their ideas come to life on a fresh new platform and in a new marketplace. Learn about the different ways of support you can get your new ideas, apps and startups

The hackathon challenge is different from other workshops because it's 24-hours long and is aimed for developers, innovators, designers and business-minds. We're excited to help you start the Windows Phone-journey. Are you ready to take on a challenge and create something cool?
What to do before you come?
Download the latest Windows Phone SDK to ensure that you have the most up to date developers tools. If you are student, you should also register for DreamSpark so that you get access to all the developers and designers tools at no cost. The $99 AppHub Registration fee will also be waived for you with your DreamSpark verification. Finally, make sure to go to AppHub to become a member of the Windows Phone Marketplace in advance of the workshop so you'll be ready to get started.
On the day of the workshop, bring your laptop computer and identification. In the meantime, familiarize yourself with the resources and learn lots more
